Garage Sale Mode

Posted in Apparitions on July 26th, 2009

I am looking for several pieces of old furniture to use around the house. I am penny pinching and am now in garage sale mode. No new and expensive furniture for me since I am saving money to buy myself a new car.

Visiting garage sales are therapeutic for me. Though seeing old toys and other items saddens me, the euphoria of finding a gemstone of a piece is priceless. One time, I was looking for a few vintage clothes and I found a filthy antique Singer sewing machine. I took a closer look at it and it was a Featherweight! I tried to test it out and it’s still working. It just needs a bit of cleaning up and a lot of oil. The best thing about it was that it was being sold for $10. Apparently, the owner had no idea about how valuable a Featherweight can be.

Two garage sales later, I finally found a wonderful L –shaped couch and it is in great condition. It has a stain though but can easily be hidden or cleaned. I also bought a two retro lava lamps in neon green and neon pink. I am so glad I found what I need and more.

Enjoy A Cleaner Hot Tub With A Hot Tub Cover

Posted in Apparitions on July 25th, 2009

The busy week always leave us to anticipate our weekends. This entitles us to enjoy one whole day of relaxation and rest. I personally love to take a bath in my own portable tub in my backyard The soothing warmth of the water really resets my energy making me ready for another work week. Given that I never really use my hot tub during the weekdays, I use a hot tub cover to protect it from the heat of the sun as well as from getting dirty. These are heavy materials which are made from expanding polystyrene and are secured when you place them on top of your hot tub. I paid for mine for only $125 which I found on eBay. You can always protect your hot tub without having to spend so much. The maintenance is not really that hard contrary to what you may be thinking. Get your cover now and be ready to swim on the weekends.

Cuisinart Convection Oven

Established in 1971, Cuisinart has risen to become one of the leading manufacturers of kitchen appliances in the USA. Their products include, among others, blenders, coffeemakers, food processors, cutlery including electric knives, ice cream makers, countertop cooking appliances, and toaster oven broilers.

For their oven broilers and bread makers, they have both conventional and convection ovens. The latter cooks faster because its fan blows away the thin layer of air surrounding and insulating the food item. Also, since hot air circulates more quickly around the food, convection ovens do not need to be heated as much as their conventional cousins. They can operate by as much as 30°Celsius lower.

A Cuisinart convection oven has two versions, the TOB-195 and TOB-60. Both are countertop models but the TOB-195 features touch pad controls with brushed chrome exterior. A sensor maintains precise temperature while an oven timer automatically shuts the oven after four hours. The oven is great for baking, broiling, and toasting. It can also be used to defrost and reheat foodstuffs. With a capacity of 0.6 cu. ft., it can easily accommodate a 12″ pizza.

The TOB-60 is also great for baking, broiling, and toasting and has the same capacity as the TOB-195. It is made of stainless steel and is equipped with a 30-minute timer.
