A family vacation should be enjoyable and relaxing…a welcome break from the stress and hassle of everyday life. A well planned trip even with children coming along should be prepared months before your travel date.

Determine your destination. Make your vacation destination somewhere the whole family will have a good time. If you are bringing children along you have to take into consideration the travel time and distance. Children get uncomfortable if the travel is too far and too long. Once the children become cranky, the parents get irritable. Your vacation is ruined just as you’ve taken the first few miles away from home. So, it would be advisable to choose a vacation spot that is not too far and too time intensive to go to.

Look into the amenities the vacation spot is offering. Does the resort offer a lot of activities that will keep everyone in the family busy and entertained? Is the location child safe and has baby sitting services? Is the location enjoyable even if you brought grandparents along? Is it the out-door type of resort or most of the facilities are confined in a hotel? Whatever the amenities is they should be something that fulfills your idea of what ideal adventure family vacations are.
